Karver KRE3.0 clamp for anti-torsion line from 11 to 13 mm
The KRE clamp allows a simple, fast installation, without heavy tools and offers the possibility of making a “blank” installation before cutting the rope to its final length.

The spinnaker furlers are used with an anti-torsion line which serves both as a link between the drum and the swivel but also as a furling support for the sail. This anti torsion must be adjusted to the correct length. The hardness and the positioning of the fibers of this rope do not allow the making of a splice and make it very difficult to sew. The clamp is then the simplest solution to implement.

Tips

– Be careful ! Our KRE clamps are only designed for adjusting the anti torsions of downwind sails (asymmetric spinnaker and gennaker)
– Be careful ! The working loads of our clamps are always lower than the load capacity of the furler
– This clamp allows you to adjust the length of your anti torsion on board
– The clamp of the upper part of the rope (swivel) can be fixed definitively from the start. The adjustment will be made with the lower clamp.
– The second is installed without the screws at first
– Put your anti torsion (without the sail) in place on the furler and fix it on its usual attachment point
– Adjust the length accordingly and make a cut
– Shorten the rope a few centimeters to compensate for its elasticity (generally 0.5 to 3%)
– Cut and permanently install the clamp
– Tape the extremity of the anti torsion. It tends to open like a “cauliflower” and will make it difficult to pass through the clamp.
– Moderately tighten the screws while you are not sure of your measurement.
– Always start by tightening the screws closest to the extremities.
